Riverbend Lakes Annual Meeting

August 15th, 2010 4pm

BREC Park on Tennis Court

We will be mailing a postcard to notify everyone of an annual meeting where

1) Elections will be held (Please send your nominations to me at heromans@cavtel.net )

2) Voting on changes in the Restrictions and Bylaws to include

a) Limit of grass height on lots

b) The complete restriction on batting cages in the neighborhood

c) Fence height on lake lots

3) Public notice on all unpaid homeowners association dues and liens filed.

This is a VERY important meeting for all residents and will impact everyone in the neighborhood. Please mark your colanders.

Also, the Metro 3 Advisory committee is meeting and on the agenda is a zoning that I assume everyone will want me to support 100%.

PLANNING CASES:

WT-3-10 (Deferred from June 21, 2010) AT&T Wireless Communications Tower: Riverbend. This property is located on the east side of River Road, west of Laurel Estates Court.

Dear neighbors,

Happy new year! Please check your mail, a letter was mailed out to all residents from Postlethwaite & Netterville regarding Riverbend Lakes Homeowner's Association annual dues. These dues are mandatory per our acts of restrictions, and must be paid by March 31st, 2010 to avoid further action.

Dues are $75 for non-lake lot owners, and $95 for lake-lot owners. We are aware that we have many new neighbors, please register through our website so we can make sure all of our contact information is current.

Dues may be dropped off to the Heroman's house, 6302 Riverbend Lakes Dr., or mailed. Please note this is a new address, do not leave them on Morgan Bend Dr.

RBLHA Board

I have had numerous complaints and comments over the year about kids riding illegal motorized vehicles around our neighborhood. I have always had a problem with this but always deferred to parental responsibility and kids having a good time, however now it seems that it has gotten out of control in most of the opinions of the homeowners.

I have informed out police security to enforce the city parish laws and strictly enforce the ban on illegal motorized vehicles on East Baton Rouge Parish streets. I would also encourage all homeowners to assist in this ban when seeing any underage persons operating said vehicles to warn them of the consequence.

2 main reasons.

1) Liability for the police officers that patrol our streets paid for by the homeowners association and the board members of the Riverbend Lakes Homeowners Association.

2) The children’s safety for their lives and the others riding with them.

I am personally looking to be proactive here so that I am not attending a funeral, visiting anyone in a hospital, or in a court of law. This is purely for protection of the lives that would be ruined in the event of an accident. Not only the child’s family but the person who would injure the children riding these vehicles. Please show this to your children that might beg and plead to drive these vehicles and let them know that the Home Owners Association is the bad guy. Being illegal, licensed drivers should know that Baton Rouge police will ticket you also for riding a illegal motorized vehicle on City streets, ride at your own discretion.

Also, BREC doesn't allow ANY motorized vehicles in the park and Park Rangers will also enforce these laws.

The annual Riverbend Lakes Halloween party will be held on FRIDAY, October 30th at 5:00 at the home of Lori & David Heroman (RBLHA President), 6302 Riverbend Lakes Drive. Trick-or-treating will also be held Friday night in our neighborhood. This decision was made out of safety concerns with Halloween falling on the night of a home football game- due to our close location to campus and the amount of traffic on Brightside. We will post signs, send out emails, and put out flyers advising all of our residents of this change. We hope that this date change will allow more of our friends and neighbors to safely trick-or-treat.

See you at the party----jambalaya, hot dogs, drinks for both adults and kids, and of course a ride on the train! Party starts at 5:00, trick-or-treating at 6:00. Your dues fund this party, so please come out!

Once again, please note that for Riverbend Lakes residents, we will hold both trick-or-treating and our annual Halloween party on Friday, October 30th @ 5:00 instead of Saturday, October 31st.
